Makeup Junkie: More Empties! Part II: Body

Hi Everyone!  Its time for another series of empties posts.  All items were purchased by me, and as before, there will be posts for skin care, hair care, bath & body, makeup, and miscellaneous for deluxe sample size and larger packaging.  If I’ve talked about it before, I’ll try to remember to link the post below.  Enjoy and thanks for reading!

Dr. Teal’s Eucalyptus Epsom Salt Relax – These are epsom salts scented with eucalyptus.  Its so helpful to soak in an epsom salt bath when you have sore muscles, and the eucalyptus scent is so nice!  Bonus: you can also use these salts as a scrub.  I will definitely be repurchasing this, and will maybe try out some of the other varieties.  🙂

bliss Lemon + Sage Soapy Suds Invigorating Body Wash + Bubbling Bath – This was a disappointment for something that advertised itself as being “soapy suds”.  You need a lot of product to get suds as a body wash, and forget the bubbling bath – you get bubbles that fizzle out within minutes (even if you add a lot of product).  I’ve also tried some of the bliss body butters and don’t find them to be effective either (in fact, I still have one in my gym bag that I’m trying to use up).  Any recommendations for must-try products from bliss?

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Lotion – I was looking for a thicker body lotion in a pump form, so I decided to try this out and I’m so glad I did!  It is definitely a thicker lotion but not so thick that you loose a lot of product in the bottle.  The scent is a bit sweeter than I would like but the hydrating effect lasts all day for me (up to 12 hours).  I will definitely repurchase but I have several body butters to go through first – I think I’ve just decided that I’m on a no-buy for bath and body products until I use up a bunch of products in my stash.  😀

BeeKind Shower Gel and BeeKind Body Lotion – I tried both of these items through Birchbox.  Of the two, I preferred the BeeKind Shower Gel over the BeeKind Body Lotion.  The BeeKind Shower Gel smells so wonderful and fresh and suds up nicely; I would consider buying the full-size but as discussed above, that will have to wait until I have fewer products in hand.  The BeeKind Body Lotion also smells lovely, but I find myself needing to reapply it (or another lotion) half-way through the day.  Itchy legs at work are not cute.  -_-

Clarins Body Life Cellulite Control – The stats that are advertised for this product are for 4 weeks of use; I got maybe two days.  I can’t really tell if I would purchase a full-size bottle or not based on this experience. :/

Seacret Minerals from the Dead Sea Body Lotion – I used this in both the Natural and Ocean scents, and I prefer the Natural scent.  I didn’t expect there to be a difference in the formula, but I think the Natural scent had a thicker and better consistency than the Ocean scent.  While I did like the lotion, and found it to be pretty effective, I don’t know that I would repurchase at its price point.

TOCCA Esfoliante da Corpo Nourishing Body Scrub in Pink Tulip & Green Apple – This item came in a Birchbox, and it was a very nice scrub.  However, I didn’t like the scent.  In general, I find the TOCCA scents to be too strong, and I can’t justify spending that much on a product that I don’t want to use because of the scent.  For body scrubs, I really like products from SheaMoisture.

Mary Kay Satin Hands Set and Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream –  TheMary Kay Satin Hands Set includes a buffing lotion, a cleanser, and a hand lotion.  The Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream is meant to be applied at night only over moisturized skin. These are super old, but mostly still okay.  The lotion from theMary Kay Satin Hands Set went off so I didn’t really use that.  The buffing lotion and cleanser still work okay, and the Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream is so nice!  I don’t plan on buying the Mary Kay Satin Hands Set (but I’m still trying to use some up) as I can use the products from SheaMoisture for buffing my hands and body, and I actually prefer the sugar scrub to this product.  The only product I would consider buying again is the Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream, but not at this time.

SheaMoisture Argan Oil & Raw Shea Hand & Body Scrub – In my last empties post, I mentioned two other scent variations – you can read about them here.  Like those products, this works best applied to dry skin followed by a shower.  I really liked this one – I think its my favorite so far!  I’ll definitely repurchase the SheaMoisture scrubs, but I’m still trying out the different varieties.  I’m set for a little while.

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer in Cocoa Radiant – The concept of this spray moisturizer is so cool!  Its a continuous stray for easy application.  And, it totally is super easy: Spray, Rub, and Go!  I didn’t find this to be moisturizing enough to use at the start of my day because I would have itchy skin half-way through the day.  What I love it for the gym or beach days.  So easy and fast to use!  I’m using the Aloe Fresh right now, and once I use up some other products, I will definitely repurchase this or the aloe one for my gym bag.

philosophy Sparkling White Ginger Shampoo, Shower Gel, & Bubble Bath – This was a holiday item from last year, and I don’t see it around for this year (yet).  The scent was sweet with a bit of kick from the ginger, and the product definitely worked well as a shower gel and bubble bath though I didn’t try it as a shampoo.  My favorite way to use it was as a bubble bath.  🙂
