Makeup Junkie: More Empties! Part III: Hair

Hi Everyone!  Its time for another series of empties posts.  All items were purchased by me, and as before, there will be posts for skin care, hair care, bath & body, makeup, and miscellaneous for deluxe sample size and larger packaging.  If I’ve talked about it before, I’ll try to remember to link the post below.  Enjoy and thanks for reading!

AVEDA damage remedy Restructuring Shampoo – I purchased 1 liter of this almost two years ago – when I hadn’t started to dye my hair but was still washing my hair daily, or almost every day.  Its gentle enough to use on a daily basis and left my hair feeling so nice.  Then, I wanted to start washing my hair less frequently so the time between washes stretched out with dry shampoo (I tried a lot of different brands) and was washing my hair 3-4 times per week.  Once I started coloring my hair regularly, the texture of my hair changed a lot – and my scalp got a lot drier. To use this product, I had to mix it with a another shampoo with better cleaning efficiency – otherwise, my hair just didn’t feel clean.  I now wash my hair twice a week (sometimes thrice) with the help of this method and using dry shampoo in between washes.  I have no plans to repurchase this shampoo – it just doesn’t work for my current hair.  In the meantime, I still have a bit to use up in a smaller bottle.

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Cherry Fragrance and Batiste Dry Shampoo – Strength & Shine – I’ve talked about the Batiste Dry Shampoo – Strength & Shine product before – here.  Its my favorite Batiste product.  The Batiste Dry Shampoo – Cherry Fragrance came in a POPSUGAR Must Have box, and while I’m not a huge fan of the fragrance, it works perfectly fine to extend the time between washes.

Giovanni 2Chic Blackberry & Coconut Milk Ultra Repair Super Potion Hair Oil Serum – This hair serum was quite nice – lovely scent and quite moisturizing.  You just need a little bit – I used it on both damp hair as well as dry hair.  I would definitely consider buying the full-size product.

Marrakesh Endz Argan & Hemp Oil Therapy -This came in my GlossyBox and I was so excited – I had wanted to try it for a long time!  For those that find oils too heavy and even those that don’t, this is a great alternative to using pure argan oil to tame your ends.  The treatment is like a lotion for your hair that leaves it smooth and perfumed.  If you don’t like the smell of Moroccan Oil or hemp, you probably won’t like the scent of this product.  I would definitely consider buying the full-size product.

Josie Maran Argan Hot Oil Self-Heating Hair Treatment – I saw this at Sephora and I had to test it out for traveling!  As the product is pretty pricey, I wouldn’t purchase this for regular use but would definitely consider purchasing it for an extended trip. I have long hair, and was able to get at least 2 uses out of each tube – even once the tube is open (you can’t reseal it), the product will still heat up with later uses.

Dermorganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque – I didn’t notice an immediate effect with this product, but the sample was quite small.  It does have great reviews and my hair is pretty damaged from processing – I would be willing to give it shot again once I use some other products up.

Proganix Anti-Fade Weightless Argan Oil + UV Protection I used this product daily to rehydrate the ends of my hair and product it’s color from fading in the sun.  The product is quite lightweight – use sparingly and use your fingers or a brush to ensure better coverage.  It will feel heavy at first, but once the oil sinks in, you’ll have scented, tame hair.  The scent is a bit perfume-y, so do use it with a light hard.

bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil – You just need to put a little between your palms and smooth it over damp or dry hair to give it a bit of shine and tame fly-aways.  I would definitely consider purchasing a full size bottle of this.

davines MINU/shampoo – davines is one of my favorite brands for hair care, and I discovered it through Birchbox.  davines has several different lines – I’ve tried many of them through Birchbox, and liked every product I’ve tried.  This one was no different; the scent was fresh and pleasant, and the shampoo worked very well in my colored hair – I would definitely repurchase it.  However, I am using the davines MOMO/shampoo for dry or dehydrated hair – it will hopefully help with the split ends!

Gilchrist & Soames London Shampoo and Gilchrist & Soames London Conditioner – Both of these items came in my Birchbox.  I really enjoyed the scent of both of these products, but I found them to not be effective for me – the shampoo was drying and the conditioner was not hydrating enough.  Overall a bad combination for me, and I would not repurchase.

Oribe Masque for Beautiful Hair – I’ve used some Oribe products before (my stylist uses their products), but I was disappointed in this product.  The sample was insufficient for one complete application, and while it smelled so nice (as all Oribe products do), it just didn’t seem to do much.  I wouldn’t purchase the full-size product based on my current experience.
